Visitor Information

Colorado Athletic Club Tabor Center/16th Street garners a mixed reception with an average rating of 3.6 stars from 230 reviews, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement. The gym is appreciated for its convenient downtown location and friendly staff, but it struggles with outdated equipment, inconvenient hours, and a cumbersome cancellation process. Concerns about annual rate increases and inadequate facilities such as limited squat racks and run-down locker rooms suggest a need for significant updates to meet member expectations.

I'm loving the gym and still finding my way around. It's a convenient location if you live or work near downtown and offers great amenities. The staff and folks I have interacted with have all been exceptionally kind. I'd love to see more group fitness classes offered , to someone to help you learn the machinery if you're not familiar with - which I am not I'll own. I also am curious about the limited hours being a night owl I wish they stayed open past 7 on Fridays and 4 on weekends, like that's when most people are off work. Anyways, I still feel at this time I'm getting my money's worth. Thanks.

A few things about this gym left me to only give 3 stars. The biggest of reasons is the cancellation process here is LIKE PULLING TEETH. I had to move about an hour away unexpectedly and was not able to go in to cancel. I called and asked if there was a way to do this over the phone or email to that they said they could send the form to me in an email. As expected I never received this email and even tried to call multiple times to ask them to send it. They said someone from membership has to send this and they have not been in within the week. As I started to realize that they were going to MAKE me come in to do this I asked “well if I come in does someone from membership have to be there”. They said no any front desk employee can do this. Well why can’t someone just send me this form over email? They did not have an answer for that. I will also note that they explained they would also have to still charge me for NEXT MONTH EVEN WHEN IM CANCELING THIS MONTH. I’m sure they have it in the contract I signed that this is the process but bottom line is they were most defiantly just trying to squeeze one more month of membership fees out of me. While also making the cancellation process as difficult as possible. I know this is not uncommon for gyms but just to contrast this terrible process, when I was using 24 hour fitness all it took was a phone call to cancel and they did not charge me an extra month. The other down side to this gym is parking. It costs about 3 bucks to park each time. Depending on how much you use the gym, this charge on top of your monthly membership will put you paying as much as some of the larger top tier gyms (lifetime).

I've been a member of this gym for about six months, and while I appreciate the amenities and find the overall experience generally satisfactory, there are some significant areas that need attention. First, the gym definitely needs more squat racks—three simply aren’t enough. A gym of this size should have at least four, and replacing the four unused stretching tables would be a good start. The locker rooms are in dire need of an upgrade. The peeling paint above the showers, stained carpets, debris behind lights, broken/damaged lockers, and grime in the jacuzzi that goes uncleaned for days or even weeks are all issues caused by neglect, nothing more. I’ve seen cheaper gyms maintain these areas better. If a full renovation isn’t possible, the cleaning efforts need to be substantially increased. An old locker room is one thing, but an unclean one at this price point is unacceptable. Renovating the bathroom could also help maintain cleanliness. Additionally, someone needs to regularly inspect the equipment and accessories to replace anything that’s worn out. Despite these issues, I'll continue my membership for now as it meets my current needs, but CAC should know that, like many others, I’d be quick to switch to a better-maintained gym if one became available.

Wellbridge says this is the "Premier Athletic Club in Denver, CO." Really that's the Athletic Club on Curtis St. While the staff is fine and this gym is ok, the hours are not the most convenient. The equipment is mostly old and outdated. And the locker rooms need to be renovated. I'm leaving this gym for the Athletic Club. The biggest reason is the greed by Wellbridge. They raise rates every year and offer a mediocre product and don't make any major changes. The Athletic Club for me was cheaper and offered better hours with brand new equipment.
