Went skiing for my first time ever on New Year’s Eve! I stayed in the valley which was perfect for a beginner like myself. They had magic carpets for two bunny slopes and two lifts for green slopes. I stuck with the magic carpet for my first trip. I took an evening class with an instructor who was very patient and informative. After a few tips and some practice I was significantly more confident than when I arrived. It was so much fun I came back a few weeks later and went on the lift for my first time. The lift attendants were awesome and would slow the lift down for new skiers. It was another great experience and I would recommend Loveland Ski Area (specifically the valley) for anyone who wants to try out skiing. I will update my review once I am comfortable enough going to the Basin!

Had a blast on my recent trip to Loveland. The lines were pretty much non-existent, the snow quality was great, and there was a lot of varying terrain for an intermediate skier. Great local mountain feel and great all around atmosphere. Only complaint is the lifts are a bit slow but it's a good to chance to recover in between runs!

I've been to a lot of ski-areas, but Loveland is the perrennial favorite. It's not so crowded, close to Denver, and gets plenty of snow. "The Local Place". They have all levels of terrain and enough that you can typically find things that aren't tracked out. Their parking is well-managed and if you're lucky you can get a ski-in ski-out spot at the bottom of the steep runs off Chet's Dream. The lots isn't gigantic by any means, and could fill up on the busiest of days. So get there early! What seals the deal are the chalets: a warm and cozy atmosphere with the constant smell of delicious food. The base area can be quite crowded so beware; table are hard to come by. Food is quite affordable as well; at the Ptarmigan Roost cabin a bowl of chili is $9. Worth it considering the location.

It's been years since I've been here, but Loveland is always great! The kids loved the snowboard instructors and the basin had a ton to offer. I love that this resort is family owned and located on a national Forest. I recommend arriving early as traffic on I70 gets pretty slow. I also recommend reserving tickets in advance as the lines can get long.

I can’t say enough good things about Loveland. It’s affordable, independently owned, and has some amazing terrain for everyone. Need some beer or a cocktail - The Rat - an amazing mid-day or après bar filled with character and gives great vibes of a local dive bar in a lodge. Pickle shots are fantastic and help with cramps right 😉 1st - The Valley side is more than enough for a first timer. Progression ranges from a small magic carpet about 30’ long to a magic carpet that parallels the bunny hill double lift. After you’ve mastered that you can take the #7 lift just next to the left of the bunny slope to increase your skill level. There are two load off points so you don’t need to go to the top and can work your way up. The runs are all groomed so don’t be intimidated if you want to go to the top and take your time coming down. The views up there are amazing. 2nd - The Basin - if you park at the valley take a compliment shuttle to the Basin. The original area of Loveland. It’s your launch point to the whole enchilada. From greens to double black diamond chutes and bowls you’ll get everything in that you could ask for. The Snow Cat from lift 9 (need a free separate pass available at the base) will take you up to almost 13,000 feet of elevation of pure expert level bowl bliss. Don’t miss out on Loveland. It’s fantastic.
