Steamboat Ski Resort exceeded all expectations! We came here in middle of January. The gondola is a real highlight—it provides stunning scenic views as you make your way up the mountain, and it’s such a smooth and efficient ride. The trails were never overly crowded, which made for a more relaxed and enjoyable skiing experience. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced skier, there’s something for everyone, and the mountain layout is fantastic. All of the staff we interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Steamboat Ski Resort is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great ski vacation!

This was my second visit to Steamboat and the skiing is amazing. Great snow, a wide variety of terrain, great snow, bluebird sunny days, powder, and a cool, laid-back cowboy skiing vibe all can be found here. I hope to have the opportunity to return each and every year until I can ski no more! Love who you are and what you do Steamboat!

Lets start with Tickets - easy to get tickets (from kiosks). Ticket is scanner enabled, so plop it in one of the pockets and it works at the lifts, lockers etc. I'd recommend an option for little kids. What i observed is, the ticket scanning buttons are a bit high up and we have to have the ticket in glove pockets or jacket sleeve pocket. Cannot have it in the upper chest pocket. In fact if there is an option of not even scanning (automated RFID) then it would even better. Ski Rental - staff is so friendly. Again, we went during the sort of off time so not many people, and getting our skiis and boot fitting was a breeze. Steamboart Sports Rental Location - very next to the lifts/gondolas. has indoor lockers where you can store your boots overnight ($30 per might a bit expensive), and they store the skis overnight for free. Parking - very convenient but a bit expensive for paid parking closer to the resort, kind of expected. Lifts /Gondolas - amazing, when we went it wasn't crowded, the lifts are always running, personnel handling the lifts are courteous, getting on the lift is a breeze as we go through the automated scanning process. Trails - Super beginner friendly but long trails available who are "advanced" beginners looking for a bit longer runs at beginner level. Food/Drinks - we tried THE RANGE - very close to the slopes, lifts, gondolas. Has good variety for our taste. Steamboat Springs Sports Shop - has all the skiing accessories, if you forget something and need to buy any. Overall - amazing experience, will go back for sure!!

I spent five amazing days at Steamboat Springs Resort in 2017 with my boyfriend and college friends. We caught a massive snowfall which made for an absolutely wonderful time on the slopes! I'm already planning my return in the near future. Amazing mountain & resort!

My visit to Steamboat Ski Resort was an unforgettable experience. Traveling from Florida, my daughter and I were eager to hit the slopes for the first time, and Steamboat delivered in so many ways, making it a trip to remember. Despite a couple of initial challenges, the exceptional service, friendly staff, and quality instruction made it all worthwhile. A Smooth Start for My Daughter I booked a package that included ski rentals and lessons for both my daughter and me, scheduled for a Monday—a day that turned out to be delightfully uncrowded. Checking in my daughter at 9 AM was a breeze. I was impressed with how well they organized everything, with her lesson starting at 9:30 to accommodate parents like me dropping off their kids. My daughter, who’s usually very timid about trying new things, had a fantastic time. The instructors were incredibly patient and supportive, helping her feel comfortable and even carrying her at times when she needed it. Seeing her on top of the mountain, smiling and confident, was such a proud moment. It was her first experience skiing, and thanks to the amazing team, she now wants to come back and do it all again. A Rocky Start for Me While my daughter’s start was seamless, my own experience began with a bit of confusion. As a first-time skier, I didn’t realize I needed to collect my equipment before heading up the mountain. Unfortunately, when I mentioned I had a class, someone directed me straight to the lift with my ticket, and I found myself at the top of the mountain without any gear. This oversight delayed me by over an hour as I had to head back to the base to get my equipment. Thankfully, the staff’s kindness made up for the inconvenience. A friendly lady named Rachel stepped in and gave me a private lesson to help me catch up with my group. Rachel’s guidance was exceptional—she was patient, thorough, and encouraging. By the end of the class, I was confidently skiing down the mountain at a level 4 or 5. I even soloed a few trails afterward and felt ready to explore more on my own. Highlights and Takeaways • Friendly and Supportive Staff: Everyone I interacted with was approachable and accommodating, from the instructors to the lady who helped me navigate my mix-up. • Lessons and Instruction: Both my daughter and I left our classes with new skills and confidence. The instructors went above and beyond to make us feel at ease. • Organization: The planning for kids’ lessons was fantastic, but better communication for first-time adult skiers would improve the experience. The Price Factor While I loved almost everything about my time at Steamboat, the pricing is undeniably steep. At nearly $300 for a day ticket, it’s not an experience everyone can easily afford. That said, the quality of service and instruction made it feel like a worthwhile investment, especially for a first-timer like me. Final Thoughts Steamboat Ski Resort offers an exceptional skiing experience, especially for beginners and families. The instructors’ patience and expertise turned what could have been an overwhelming first experience into a joyful and empowering adventure. Despite the high price and a few initial missteps, I’m already looking forward to coming back. Recommendation: If you’re a first-time skier or traveling with kids, Steamboat is an excellent choice for top-tier instruction and a supportive environment. Be prepared for the cost, but rest assured, the memories and skills you gain will be worth it!
