I had just enjoyed a few cocktails and narrowly avoided boarding a train when I ambled out of Union Station and discovered these public fountains. I was immediately taken with their beauty - jets of water leaped spiritedly, bright lights illuminating the spectacle from every angle. “Got any soap?!” a gravely voice barked. I turned to see a man dressed in rags snarling and swaying on his feet. He was talking to a second man, also clearly homeless. This man was washing a pair of worn out sneakers in the public fountain. “I already told you no!” he spat. I called an Uber. Back at my hotel, I took a 30 minute shower and watched a movie in bed. Five stars.

Really great place to hang out on a hot day. Lots of places to grab a bite or picnic. A big hit with kids and a people watcher paradise.
